WHO WILL I BE WORKING WITH?

Hi, I’m Claire! I’m a plant-based IBS Specialist Nutritional Therapist and Holistic Nutritionist, and I’ll be your IBS coach and moral support for the duration of your time in the Plant Nourish, Gut Flourish program.

I’ve know how you feel. I’ve had Irritable Bowel Syndrome for over 15 years and I wish I’d known back then what I know now! Let me tell you; a scattergun approach doesn’t work. All that late-night Googling and desperately removing random foods from your diet does more harm than good. 

While there’s no cure for IBS, it IS possible to get considerable relief from the symptoms that weigh you down and control your life on a daily basis. But a super restrictive diet is not the answer.

Back when I first tried the low FODMAP diet it was relatively new, and although I’d paid privately to see a dietitian, I essentially got handed a list of foods I should and shouldn’t eat with a few (awful!) recipes, and I was sent on my way. I wasn’t guided through the reintroduction phase properly, and as a result, I unnecessarily stopped eating foods that I now know – thanks to my nutrition training – are incredibly beneficial to health. I was miserable, and unfortunately, my symptom relief was short-lived.

Fast-forward ten+ years and I now have the knowledge and skills to manage my IBS, but I had to go back to university to learn what was needed. Symptom control in IBS is nothing short of life-changing and I want to help you get to where I am now which is why I created this program.

– You’ve tried the low FODMAP diet before but it was too complicated and/or you got no results.

– You want personalised support and guidance from a nutritionist that 100% gets what you’re going through, and knows that managing IBS is about more than just food.

The Plant Nourish, Gut Flourish program is not for you if:

– You don’t suffer from IBS

– You’re looking for a quick fix.

The monthly coaching calls will be carried out via Zoom and include a presentation of the topic(s), a Q&A session, and a run through of the tasks to complete in your own time.

You’ll be able to book your 1-2-1 calls at a time that suits you – ideally during the first 7-10 days of each month. The two additional session are held outside of this schedule; one during the reintroduction phase and the other at the conclusion of the program. This makes 8 1-2-1 calls in total.

Worksheets, templates, printables, a copy of the presentation slides, and a summary of each week’s learning objectives will also be provided to help you progress.

The Plant Nourish, Gut Flourish program runs for six months.

This might sound like a long time, but honestly, if you want to get long-lasting results, you need to be committed to seeing the program through from start to finish.

One of the major reasons IBS sufferers fail to get proper symptom relief is because they take a scattergun approach to different therapies, moving on too quickly before they’ve had chance to see any difference in their symptoms.

Done correctly, the low FODMAP elimination diet usually takes around 4 months to complete. The elimination phase lasts for 4 to 6 weeks, and the reintroduction phase takes another 6 to 12 weeks.

The Plant Nourish, Gut Flourish program covers so much more than the low FODMAP diet though! You’ll learn about and implement various other evidence-based coping strategies during these six months so you are fully empowered and confident at managing your condition, and most importantly, you can get your life back!

You should allow one hour for the monthly group coaching calls, 45 minutes for each of for your one-to-one coaching calls, and an hour for the bi-weekly (fortnightly) group check-ins.

The group check-ins aren’t mandatory, but they are a great opportunity to meet with fellow IBS warriors. The calls will be recorded so you’ll be able to watch a replay if you can’t make it to the live sessions.

There will also be a few small tasks to complete as we go through the program – things like questionnaires and worksheets – to track your progress, but these shouldn’t take you very long.
